Eng. Ali A. Alhazmi

Since November 2016, Eng. Ali Abdulrahman Alhazmi is the Governor of Saline Water Conversion Corporation, responsible for the desalination of seawater and supplying various regions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with desalinated water. Eng. Alhazmi has a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Western Michigan University, United States, and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from University of Michigan. He has 35 years of professional and senior leadership experience in the refining and industrial sectors.

He possesses strong leadership and management skills and technical competent in handling and managing complex assignments at strategic Kingdom refining and industrial facilities such as Ras Tanura Refinery (Kingdom’s largest refinery), Riyadh Refinery, Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery (SASREF) and Luberef. Prior to his recent position as SWCC Governor, his extensive experience history included the following positions.

Governor of Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As Governor of the prestigious government organization the largest producer of desalinated water in the world producing more than 5 million m³/day of potable water, 7,276 MW of Electricity and employing around 10,000 personnel are responsible for the complete construction of new desalination/plants in the Kingdom, O&M of the 33 existing SWCC plants, construction and maintenance of Water Transmission Systems throughout the Kingdom and Desalination Technologies Research Institute (DTRI).
